Venus and the Moon on Tuesday night

The Moon is closer to Venus on Wednesday night

On New Year's eve the Moon and Venus were between three and four degrees apart in the southwestern sky. Many thought that the bright planet, so noticeable, in the sky was Jupiter. But, no it's Venus. Venus and Moon Slide Show

What a display and what a light bill

The Christmas display above is not technically in Toombs County. However, it is nearby and I discovered it on the way back from a basketball game in Eastman. You can find this energy eating light show on Highway 19 going south just off Highway 46. The display is so wide that this picture is actually three different pictures merged together.  Watch Video

Sherry Woods took these photos of a very fat Bob White Quail and she says the bird stayed in a tree just of her patio for almost an hour. He was singing his "Bob White" call and so she began whistling the call back to him and he would answer

Please don't wake up the sleepy squirrel

Please hold the noise down in this area of the web site. You might wake up the sleepy squirrel. Wouldn't want to startle him and cause him to roll of his comfy bed.
